The “Skool of Barbering with MGTY” is a youth-led initiative in Manchester, spearheaded by Zee, a talented 20-year-old professional barber. Designed to empower young individuals aged 15-25 from underserved areas like Harpurhey and Moston, this program offers comprehensive training in both basic and specialized barbering techniques, including working with clippers and creating intricate head designs. Our classes, held in the safe and accessible facilities of The Manchester College, provide participants with industry-standard equipment and professional guidance. By fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, we aim to equip young people with the skills needed to pursue legal and rewarding careers in the barbering industry, thereby reducing the risk of engagement in criminal activities.
In connection with MGTY (Manchester’s Got Talent Youth), the “Skool of Barbering” also offers opportunities for young photographers and videographers to work alongside professionals, capturing and promoting the project’s progress on social media. This dual focus not only enhances participants’ practical experience but also teaches them the constructive use of social media for professional purposes. Through collaboration with local authorities, businesses, and community groups, including the endorsement of the Lord Mayor of Manchester, our program strengthens community bonds and promotes positive social change. We also engage in community service by offering free haircuts to homeless individuals and low-income families, demonstrating our commitment to social responsibility and inclusivity.

Iβm Zeriah, the founder of Skool of barbering thank you to Bianca the Manager of @agency_change I was selected to be apart of a 12 week project that consisted of coming up with an idea that benefited the Harpurhey and Moston community. At the end of the 12 weeks after producing the idea we then had to present our idea to a panel, where theyβd be obligated to pick 3 people out of around 10 to give a fund of Β£2000. We thank GOD I was one of them and now I have the Skool of barbering who my producer @joshuawilky has helped me with ππΎ
Skool of barbering is a barber school helping young people from aged 15-25 how to cut hair, connect with other barbers, barbershops and giving them and opportunity to learn a legal high income skill which they can take on there journey through life. My desire of this project is to get young people of the street and give them the skills to become bigger than what they see in there everyday life. As it will be hard at first I am looking for the funding to do as much as I can for the young boys caught up and looking for a way out as well the ones who are stuck with nothing too do.
